Wanaka

Wanaka is the resort of the 'locals'. Set on the shores of Lake Wanaka for boating, and at the edge of Mt Aspiring National Park for tramping and beneath the ski resorts of Treble Cone and Cardrona, Lake Wanaka is an all-year destination. Wanaka is also home to the internationally acclaimed "Warbirds Museum" and location of the famous bi-annual "Warbirds over Wanaka" event.
